Ah, I must have missed the juggernaut 16-16 team that Air force was last year. There is some serious envy brewing in a few different cities towards the Trees...Why would you kick out what should be a top 3 team for the next four years (at the least)? When does the stupidity end?

Are we a little hard on NDSU?
Ok, clearly they have their idiots. I know that. Every fan base has does but that win over Minnesota is a big deal, anytime you beat a Big ten school it's a big deal. Granted it doesn't jump them to the top tier but it's still a big freakin' deal.
Is there a problem with legitimizing the Sycamores?
I read the Internet message boards, I read them a lot in fact. It seems that every time Indiana State is getting ready for a team, everyone seems to be thinking they are an unstoppable force about to meet a cream puff.
In most cases, when Indiana State wins that team because the worst team on the planet. I am sorry people I am about to call you out. This is crap. It's not a fluke that they have won as many games as they have, it's a changing of the guard. Now stop the excuse-making, Indiana State isn't going to lose 60 of 62 games in a row anytime soon so stop bringing it up.

MVFC predictions for the weekend
Here at Bird's shorts we don't skimp on football so here we go:
NDSU@SIU: SIU is truly desperate. This is a very similar match-up to when Indiana State went to SIU last year for Senior day. Bad sitch for the Bizon. Salukis win 24-21.
Illinois State @ MSU: Bears are bad, really bad and it partially to do with their set-up schedule wise but a lot of it otherwise has to do with the fact that defensively they just don't have a lot of talent. On the other hand, the Birds got their shit together. Roll Birds 31-14 (yeah I went there).
SDSU@YSU: Comes down to this, at Quarterback Youngstown state has talent and experience. SDSU only has talent. YSU 20-14
Now to the game of the week:

Lets break it down Unit by unit
Trees Offense versus Panthers Defense
Interesting match-up of Speed vs. Size. The offensive line of the trees will be important to their success, the starting guards have been a big part of that power Tree running game. If they can get 4 yards a carry versus UNI, the panthers will be in a hurt but the d-line of the Panthers has to be able squash Shakir Bell's interior running lanes and force him into a side-to-side running style.
In the passing game, I think it's an obvious Indiana State advantage. When you have Ronnie Fouch passing to Alex Jones (Preseason all Conference and All American- in some circles), Justin Hilton, Michigan State transfer receiver Donald Spencer, Preseason all american Brock Lough and the bevy of running backs the Trees have, it's difficult to keep track of all of the weapons. The indoor weather will really help Fouch and company as well.
Trees Defense vs. Panthers offense
Interesting match-up because I think the Trees have all of the Talent in the world. They may have the best secondary in The Valley with Alex Sewall and Burnett.
What it will come down to is if Aaron Archie and Ryan Roberts can slow that option game of Northern Iowa. if they can and force it into a passing game from Rennie, it plays into the Trees greatest strength overall and that is defensive end Ben Obasecki. That kid has owned pretty much every person he has matched up against. If it turns into a passing contest, UNI is in trouble.
I am going to go way out on a limb and Say the Trees jump into first place of the Missouri Valley football conference on a last second touchdown from Fouch to Alex Jones.
